Irina Vogt (Leipzig) - psychotraumatologist

Professional background

A psychologist, she worked for years as a clinical psychologist and psychotherapist in an outpatient institute in Mecklenburg-Vorpommeria, in the Northeast of Germany. From 1992 to 2000 she had her own psychotherapeutic practice there before joining an outpatient practice in Leipzig where she has worked ever since. She is a qualified psychodynamic psychotherapist for adults and children and also a lecturer in this field.

She has done further training in analytical psychotherapy, hypnotherapy and psychotraumatology. She is also a certified psychotraumatologist (DeGPT) following the Huber ( Kassel ) treatment concept for dissociative identity disorders.

Since 2000 she has helped develop the somatic-psychological-interactional model for treating complex traumatised and other disorders (SPIM-20-KT as trauma and body oriented individual and group therapy concept comprising creative games and usage of ensoulable therapeutic objects). She is a director of the Academy for Integrative Psychotherapy and the Trauma Institute Leipzig.

Professional background

Chartered psychologist, including 8 years at a psychiatric clinic in Saxony , Germany . Since 1992 he has had his own psychotherapeutic practice in Leipzig . He is qualified in psychodynamics, adult psychoanalysis and children and youth psychology. He is also a psychology trainer and lecturer.

Further qualifications include family therapy, hypnotherapy, catathyme-imaginative psychotherapy, analytical body psychotherapy and psychotraumatology. He is a certified psychotraumatologist (DeGPT). Treatment concept for dissociative identity disorders according to Humber (Kassel). He has published articles on psychoanalysis, the body and trauma since 1996.

Since 1996 he has developed and expanded his concept of treating patients with ensoulable therapeutic objects (Vogt, 2004) and since 2000 he has developed the somatic-psychological-interactional model for treating complex traumatised and other disorders (SPIM-20-KT as trauma and body oriented individual and group therapy concept - a step by step treatment manual can be found in Vogt (2007)). Director of the Academy for Integrative Psychotherapy and the Trauma Institute Leipzig.

Member of DeGPT, ESTD, DGK, und EABP.
Member of the international board of ISSTD.
Member of Fachausschuss für Psychatrie des Bundeslandes Sachsen in der kassenärztlichen Vereinigung Sachsen.
